Just a quick reminder that our next LDBWS event is the bird race on 10th May. We hope lots of you will take part, it’s just a bit of fun with a social gathering at the end at Silverdale Hotel. We hope everyone will enjoy it however seriously or not they choose to take it!

A few lingering winter species which are often tricky to find on a bird race were still present on the Eric Morecambe pools this morning: 7 Pink-footed goose, 4 pintail, 3 wigeon, 2 red-breasted merganser. Another wigeon is still present at Tim Jackson hide. Grasshopper warbler heard reeling from the level crossing lay-by.
