Without making a massive effort and setting off very late we managed to still log a decent old fashioned NYD tally. Glorious day for a walk. 11am in Warton Crag car park for a 5 mile circuit. Drive-by Silverdale (Leighton Moss rammed so carried on) then Arnside, Holme then Tewitfield, Teal Bay and through to Glasson and home before dusk. 82 spp with highlights M peregrine,gw egret, woodcock, g woodpecker, marsh harrier, marsh tit, siskin, stock dove, kingfisher, common scoter, and remarkably a new m blackcap in our garden with a ltt party on apple halves. Great day out. No fieldfare, grey wagtail or gbb gull however.
