I walk along the canal at Lunecliffe/Haverbreaks quite frequently. I had previously reported sedge warbler and lesser whitethroat singing here earlier in the spring, however I have not heard either species singing here for at least four weeks.
I heard the sedge warbler singing very quietly yesterday from the vegetation where I had previously heard it singing from. Today it was the turn of the lesser whitethroat from the area it had been heard from back in April/May.
