Four hours, 20 minutes (6.50 – 11.10 am) sea-watching on the incoming tide, with just enough going on to keep the interest up:
Little Gull – 1 1st summer flew in at 7.08 am
Arctic Skua – 1 dark morph flew out distantly at 8.20 am
Sandwich Tern – 68, but birds flying in and back out, so probably some repetition, so difficult to be sure of the true number
Guillemot – 21 floating in with the tide in ones and twos from 8.28 am onwards, several later flying back out
Common Scoter – 46, mostly flying out distantly from 8.40 am onwards
Manx Shearwater – 7 comprising 2+2 flying out from 9.30 am onwards, later 2+1 flying in
Gannet – 2 adults distantly across the mouth of the Bay at 9.15 am
Red-throated Diver – 1 flew out at 10.40 am
Pink-footed Goose – c.120 flew north across the Bay in a single flock at 7.40 am
Canada Goose – 2 flew south across the Bay at 7.50 am
Greylag Goose – 4 flew along the seawall and headed off inland at 9.25 am
Whimbrel – 11 flying in
Sparrowhawk – 1 female flew in and headed off over the helipad at 8.00 am
Also: 1 Harbour Porpoise and 2 Grey Seal.
