8 hawfinches with c15 greenfinches in trees on edge of Coldwell Meadows at 14.00. Also 2 stock doves on Dollywood Lane.
In light of previous comments on greenfinches, they are regular around Silverdale area, and normally seen on walks at Coldwell/Gait Barrows, Heald Brow/Jack Scout, and in the lindeth Road/Shore Road area. The last group include our garden feeders in their circuit. In fact they have the highest recording rate of any species on our BTO Garden BirdWatch records over the last 20 years, being seen in 97% of the 831 weeks for which records have been submitted, 100% over the last 12 months.
