      Hi All

Certainly a crisp start and then a glorious day.

My first Willow Warbler of the year was singing behind Halton Station along with Chiffchaff and Blackcap.

Between Halton and the Crook another 3 Chiffchaffs singing and single Blackcap.

Crook to Bull Beck another 4 Chiffchaffs and 2 Blackcaps. Dipper in full song on Artle Beck.

At Bullbeck had Kingfisher and a party of 40 BT Godwit dropped in on the next bend downstream and 10 minutes later another 150 landed in the same area. Never recorded them in the valley before myself.

Just 2 Sand Martins seen in chilly conditions.

Then headed back over Caton Green Road. Had Tree Sparrows calling at The Orchard and next door 2 seen at the former nursing home.

What a great start to the day.

      Cheers
      Steve

        A good haul there Steve.

Could you give us a six-figure for the 190 Black-tailed Godwits please?

          Hi Dan

Approximately SD540659 where there is a large shingle/sandy bed on the river bend.

          Cheers
          Steve

Thanks. Were they on the grass or in the river channel itself?

I can’t exactly say as they dropped into that area and were then out of sight. Cheers Steve
