      Pine Lake – A 1st winter Great Northern Diver favouring the northern half of the lake. Difficult to keep track of when diving repeatedly, but also showing well for up to 30 minutes between periods of activity.
      Also:
      1 adult Whooper Swan – still with 10 Mute Swan at the south end of the lake
      1 male Pochard
      21 Tufted Duck
      9 Goldeneye (8 female, 1 male)

      Stone Jetty to Teal Bay – Earlier, checks of the limestone groynes and inshore water of the rising tide produced:
      1 1st winter female Scaup off Strathmore groyne
      12 Great Crested Grebe – including 6 off Scalestone Point groyne
      1 colour-ringed Lapwing on Scalestone Point groyne

        Checking through my notes, the last (only) Great Northern Diver I can recall seeing in the LDBWS area was also at Pine Lake during winter 1995-96.
