The farmer brings some food for his sheep and lambs at ca 7.30 each morning on the sloping field at the foot of Warton Crag. The moment he starts putting the food out on the ground gulls appear and as soon as he leaves they dive down among the sheep. Today there were 120 Black-headed Gulls, 22 Lesser Black backs and 18 Herring gulls. The larger gulls get first choice. After about 10 mins the gulls are replaced by crows. Today 160 Jackdaws 12 Carrion Crows and 1 Rook. By 08.00 the show is over! Makes a change to watching Tits, loads of House Sparrows and Woodpigeon.
