Pretty much as usual we have several common garden species nesting in our mixed hedge, namely robin, blackbird, dunnock, wren. A great addition in the last week is a singing greenfinch now building. I have seen very few this winter, though more than in recent years after their population crash.
Also, I had a call from a friend in the Tewitfield area, a reliable observer, noting a ring necked parakeet in his garden. Plenty of big old parkland trees in that part of the world.
