2 Gadwall – in flight over the moss
3 Stonechat – 2 males, 1 juvenile
1 Water Rail – below viewing platform
1 Garden warbler – singing by start of boardwalk
Several singing Willow Warbler, but in previous years I would also have expected to see Cuckoo, Grasshopper Warbler and Tree Pipit around the viewing platform – not this morning.
Eric Morecambe Pools (from Crag Road viewpoint)
1 Otter – on the Flood – the first I’ve seen on one of the salt-marsh pools
1 Bittern – flew across Barrow Scout Field to land in the reeds along the railway edge of the Flood at 10.03 am, then flew back to the north end of Barrow Scout Fields about 12 minutes later – again the first I’ve seen on the salt-marsh pools
1 Great White Egret – Eric Morecambe Pools
50 Avocet – 48 adults, including 2 with 2 small young on the Eric Morecambe Pool North
116 Black-tailed Godwit – on the Flood
4 adult Little Grebe – Barrow Scout Fields
40 dead Black-headed Gull – mostly on the Allen Pool

90 Black-tailed Godwit – by Conder Creek on rising tide
16 Avocet – 14 adults, including 2 adults with 2 small young and 1 colour-ringed adult (Yellow flag 63) on Conder Pool
2 1st summer Mediterranean Gull – Conder Pool
