This morning’s offering was rapidly cleared by a flock of around 20 Jackdaws, 2 Carrion Crows, 2 Jays, a Magpie, 8 Woodpigeons and 2 Pheasants…..all while the wee birds looked on disconsolately from the hedgerow. I’m not sure this project is reaching its target demographic…..”the best laid schemes o’ mice and men gang aft agley”, as they say in Ayrshire.

The chaffinches (c30-40) and reed buntings (c10) were making liberal use of the tables and surrounding area between 9:30 and 10:00 this morning, along with a couple of great tits, at least one robin and a blackbird.
