      Belated records from Saturday 19th April, 9:30-11:45
      Overcast, still, 10 degrees

      Track from New Road to carpark:
      Coot – 1 heard Barrow Scout
      Little Grebe – 1 heard Barrow Scout
      Common Sandpiper -1 heard Barrow Scout
      Cetti’s Warbler – 1
      Sedge Warbler – 1
      Reed Warbler – 1
      Wheatear – 3 on wall by New Lane opposite the entrance to the reserve

      Fields north of carpark:
      Greylag – 16
      Mallard – 4
      Woodpigeon – 17
      Jackdaw – 3
      Crow – 4
      Sedge Warbler – 2 in bushes by railway
      Whinchat – 1 male at 9:30; male and female at 11:30 (see below)
      Wheatear – 2
      Pied Wagtail – 1

      Carpark & path to hides:
      Magpie – 2
      Blue Tit – 1
      Cetti’s Warbler – 3
      Willow Warbler – 1
      Chiffchaff – 4
      Sedge Warbler – 7 (for a total of 10, including the ones mentioned above)
      Wren – 3
      Blackbird – 1

      Canada Goose – 1
      Pink-footed Goose – c60 still feeding on marsh

      (The wader flocks above were all roosting on the islands/bunds really close to Eric Morecambe Hide – spectacular sight)
