      There were briefly no fewer than 11 magpies noisily conferring in a tree in my neighbour’s garden in Scotforth this morning. Do they roost together? Would have made a tidy entry for the Garden Bird Watch…..

        Yes, Alasdair- Magpies do indeed roost communally.
