Me and Andrew McCafferty were out on our respective doorsteps (both Lancaster) last night*, listening for nocturnal migration.

Between us, four parties of Common Scoter were heard flying over at 2035, 2057, 1049 (19 March), and 0223 (20th March). They sounded like they were headed E or NE (as might be expected).

I also heard flocks of Teal and Black-tailed Godwits on the move over Willow Lane.

      *E 0-1, 0-1 Oktas., starry.
