      09:00 – 11:30

      Nice start but spoilt by the unexpected rain at the furthest point in the walk. The few highlights were:

      Osprey heading SW over the turbines at 09:25.

      70+ Swallows feeding over a sileage field, the majority were juvs. with 2 House Martin amongst them.

      Two charms of 30+ Goldfinches again, mainly juvs. feeding on the roadside Knapweed and Thistles. Fortunately, the road verges are largely left alone here.

      No sign of any movements and not a single Chat seen or heard. Not helped by the unexpected rain crossing the moor.

      A wet Grey Squirrel running along a drystone wall at the highest point of the walk looked completely out of place.
