      Highlights included:

c1000 BTGodwits, most in full summer plumage,on gravel bank just upstream of Bull Beck. A further 150 were in the fields below the Burton Wood complex.

Pair of Common Sand on river near Claughton.

Around 40 Sand Martins back as the river recedes.

Willow Warblers now in numbers along the valley.

Mallard accidentally flushed from a nest full of eggs and other broken eggshells seen in two places.

2/3 pairs of Tree Sparrows hanging on at Caton Green and were collecting nest material. I have one pair in Brookhouse nest building after a blank year in 2023.

A nice walk in very muddy conditions!
