      Aldcliffe path this week

      Flying visit to Freeman’s pool, frog pond and wildfowler’s pool a few days ago. A good time for jackdaws and canada geese.

      Freemans pool:
      quiet, no sign of black headed gulls. pair of canada geese and a pair of mallard seen

      Frog pond:
      C 30 canada geese
      1 greylag
      Mute swan 2 adult 1 juvenile
      Tufted duck pair
      1 moorhen
      Woodpigeon c10
      Jackdaws in area c50
      Possibly one pink footed goose, brownish head and neck seen. Mostly hidden in grass.

      Wildflowers pools:
      Seemed quiet:
      a few mallards
      1 moorhen
      1 pied wagtail
      1 jackdaw (c20 fringe fields)
      Shellduck pair flew in to the fringes
      Martins 5 above
      Fields nearby: 3 canaga geese and 1 greylag

      Along path between fp and wfp:
      1 common whitethroat atop a hawthorn tree

      Intermediate field, willow pond:
      Another adult mute swan, alone
