      Knowlys Road, Heysham
9 Pale-bellied Brent geese – along the outer edge of the low tide skeer off the promenade play area at 10.00 am, but very distant.

      Pine Lake
Juvenile Great Northern Diver – relatively close to the parking area on the east side of the lake
      4 Great Crested Grebe
85+ Tufted Duck – an increase on recent weeks, but nothing more interesting with them
      1 female Pochard
      10 Goldeneye (6 females, 4 males)
      1 colour-ringed Black-headed Gull – Blue 2F33 – a regular bird at this site

      Leighton Moss
No sign of yesterday’s female Ring-necked Duck (or any Tufted Duck) from either Lilian’s Hide or Causeway Hide.
The weather was putting a dampener on the birds in general, with no Marsh Harrier or Great White Egrets seen.
18 Common Snipe on the island from the left hand side of Lilian’s Hide.
A female Siskin was among a group of Goldfinch feeding in an alder tree by the Dipping Pond. Rather striking how Goldfinch seem to have replaced Siskin and Lesser Redpoll as the finch species most likely to be seen feeding in the alders around Leighton Moss.
