C 5pm Fairfield

A fitting sight for Halloween.

Ghostly barn owl flew across the main field towards the orchard, persued and swooped on by a crow. Barn owl then retreated unfollowed uphill to hover, hunting, then flew right up by the ldbws feeding station. It’s wingspan looked impressive to me, I thought it was an egret at first but the brownish back and hovering told me otherwise.

Dan H mentioned he’d seen a barn owl around freeman’s recently too.
