      Fortunately saw this coming so sitting outside Heysham NR office in a howling easterly was the order of the day. Shaun did a bit of bush bashing and the/a Yellow-browed Warbler was in the NE corner of the reserve. The ‘big sit’ as follows – the last hour was a bit messy as lack of concentration/conversations took over a bit

      Heysham NR office looking north 0800-1200
      REdwing 20,191 south south west
      Fieldfare 981 ditto – mostly in the latter 1/3 of observations
      Brambling – at least one
      Merlin – one high SE
      Chaffinch 74 min south
      and a few odds and ends including migrant Blackbird and Song Thrush
