I'm very sad to report the death of Fred Gould who some of our members may know. Fred was a top birder and excellent photographer in Cumbria. His main birding areas were the Kent Estuary and Killington Reservoir which he watched regularly, almost on a daily basis producing some notable records such as Caspian Tern, Common Crane, Ring-Necked Duck, Red-necked Grebe and many others. He was a larger than life character with a great sense of humour (as those who attended his annual January slide show and quiz will testify). He will be greatly missed. Fred passed away a few days before Christmas and a service for him will be held on 4 January 2018 at St. George's Church, Gooseholme, Kendal. Our thoughts are with his family.

I can only echo what you've said Jean but would add that the service commences at 11am.
