Leighton Moss Tower

The tower was opened today and those up there at about 3.30 were witnesses to a lovely display by a female marsh harrier, soaring, attacking a duck and apparently having a cooling dip in the mere.

Give it a look, you can see a great deal of the reserve and from a new angle.

Just a shame it couldn't have been a bit closer to the Oak trees, would have been great to get eye-level with the Purple Hairstreaks as you can at Minsmere.

Any vis mig data esp thrushes from it this autumn please?
