Bald Birds

This morning at Thurnham catholic church I saw a Bald Blue Tit, no feathers on its head at all. It appeared to be in good health and was feeding.

Is this due to disease or mites or something else.

I saw a Robin in similar condition at Scorton picnic area.

More boring answer: Might be caused by mites, especially easily passed on where birds congregate eg round feeders

Not responsible for the response someone using my name. Very odd.

This is getting silly. I definitely didn't post the papal head dress comment and borrowed Jean's phone to say I didn't yesterday forgetting it wouldn't register to me! Still doesn't explain a posting I never made
