Re Local Birding League (Howie). Where was the Sooty Tern on the 23rd July? There is nothing on RBA, or Birdguides!

Hi Jim
the Sooty Tern was at Cemlyn Bay on the 23rd - it was last reported there on Tuesday but has not been seen since

it was seen around midday on the Tuesday but not again after that and has not been seen since - it was put out on RBA up to 5pm tuesday and was reported often - we saw it on the Saturday but people going for it on Sunday dipped it, as it was seen early morning then disappeared for the day in heavy rain - probably was out on the Skerries all day - it returned again on Monday and then Tuesday up to midday.

I knew about the Anglesey Bird but your report on the League Forum seemed to imply that the bird was local!

the reference to the Sooty Tern was just that we had been to see it at Cemlyn Bay had it been in our area you would have heard about it without me making any reference to it - it was just a passing remark
