Wednesday 26th Jan

Ashton Hall Lake - The 4 Little Egrets had already flown in to roost in the low bushes overhanging the lake by the time I arrived at the site at c.4.30 pm. Good 'scope views from the public footpath/cycletrack by Nansbuck Cottage. Two did not appear to be ringed, while vegetation was obscuring the legs of the other two. Interestingly one was beginning to develop mantle plumes.

Also 1 Tawny Owl heard calling and 1 Peregrine over the estuary.
