Strange day

9.10am

3 Sparrowhawk in a bunfight over Derwent Rd., 2 F and M. The male repeatedly bombed one of the females and finally chased it away before returning to circle with the other female.

10.30am

Merlin over in direct flight, <100 feet up, flapping fast from town centre and on through NH Farm gulls. Freehold first for me.

12.00 noon

Kestrel over from Martin's kitchen window

2.30 pm

3 Buzzards circling and moving north over Moor Hospital.

All a bit early for Spring this?

Thanks go to Pete Crooks for today's header photo of Aldcliffe. If you have a suitable picture of a local birding spot, why not send it to the webmaster, at andymccafferty@gmail.com? I need to resize (and if necessary crop) pictures to make them 600x130 pixels, so ideally send it at that size (definitely not smaller).
