What a brave birder to go down there today! I was at Bare walking to Scalestones and the end of the Stone Jetty appeared to be totally under spray and waves just before noon.

We had a few black-headed gulls on the water, no ducks, waders flying by slowly west or incredibly fast east, included oystercatcher, curlew, knot, redshank, dunlin, all being washed off the groynes as the waves went over the top. The ringed plover and turnstones were right at the top of the rocks by the side of the footpath as we walked along. The wind swinging more westerly (from south west overnight) was pushing the water high into Teal Bay and Hest Bank.
