Highlights of a clockwise walk around Sunderland Point on a beautiful autumn morning (8.00 - 10.30 am):

2 Chiffchaff, 1 female Blackcap - Dolphin House garden

4 Whooper Swan - south (presumably same as over Heysham Head and Middleton NR). Incidentally the Whooper Swans near Cockersand Abbey were clearly audible across the estuary.

425 Pink-footed Geese - south in 6 skeins

1 juvenile Wheatear - tip of Sunderland Point

78 Carrion Crow - in a single group on the sands SW of the Point

1 Swallow - south

1 2nd CY Mediterranean Gull - roosting on the mudflats by the Toilet Block
