There's been a few Green Sandpipers around the Wildfowlers' Pools area of Aldcliffe, one of which has colour rings. On 3rd August I had decent views to id the CR bird and the info of its history is here: Ringed on the 7th August 2018 at Woolston at 5am (one of three together). It was an adult then so hatched in at least 2017. Weight 67.4g. The metal ring number is NV38190. It would be great if it could be recorded on its breeding grounds in the future.

Also on 3/8 an Osprey flew down the Lune over Freeman's Pools, first seen from New Quay Road.

Thanks. So it wasn't the one seen last autumn?

Not sure. I think all the Green Sands ringed at Woolston have the green ring on the right leg. 31 have now been colour ringed at Woolston so need to read the numbers/letters and colours on the left leg.
