Adult Hobby briefly near Ashton Hall not long after sunrise. Three Cattle Egrets out SW.

Cockersands area:

Scaup drake on the choppy waters off Plover Scar. Watched for a while then it flew out to sea, SW.

2000 Dunlins, 200 Ringed Plovers, 5 Sanderlings, 3 Turnstone and a Whimbrel roosting there.

Wheatear by Cocker Abbey. Corn Bunting singing again from mature hedge alongside footpath across Tomlinsons Farm. Whooper Swan and drake Wigeon by Crook Farm.

Conder Green:

Bar-tailed Godwit 54 (are we set to have an over-summering flock?) Greenshank 1, Little Ringed Plover 1, Avocet 6, Common Tern 7, Dunlin 6.

Aldcliffe: 3-4 Little Ringed Plovers-- still courting / mating. One rather pale female is a distinctive bird.
