Lancaster Tip

My daily walk goes along the Lune behind the tip and down to the Golden Ball.

Avocet 2 flew out over the river then appeared to drop into Freeman's Pool.
Common sandpiper 1
Ringed plover 2
Tree sparrow 2 nest building
Willow warbler 7
Chiffchaff 3
Blackcap 2
Wheatear 1
Goosander 3
Reed bunting 3 males

A pair of avocet were on the Wildfowlers' Pools at Aldcliffe c7.30am - presumably the same mobile pair?
The ruff was also still present.
At least 4-5 willow warblers in the area and 1 wheatear on the salt marsh.
No sign of the white-fronts.

A very early Sedge Warbler at Aldcliffe today too. 500 Black-tailed Godwits. Also a White Wagtail.

Nick-- were the 2 RP in breeding mode on the tip or off passage on river?

They were on the river
