Great White Egret
Posted by pete marsh
It would be good to get a handle on how many are in our area as we have been lucky with this species which is still, along with Cattle Egret nationally reportable on RBA
1) Regular Holme bird
2) and 3) two seen regularly Colloway marsh
?4) possibly one of the above recently commuting to and from presumed Ashton Hall roost and the wetland on Heysham golf course - seen flying over Midd NR.
5) to 8). Four regularly Leighton?
Lune valley - none seen for some time
Can anyone help to clarify the Leighton/Kent Est situation and also whether there are still two on Colloway in addition to the Heysham commuter
Thanks very much
Please can we leave this as a sticky?
Most days but not everyday, the GWE is in the fields, just as you leave the Burton In Kendal village (Kendal direction) very boggy fields with lots of channels on the edges. Its been calling there for at least 3 months to my knowledge, although I am told by birders that some days there are two GWE's
