Bramblings galore

Bramblings galore

Mainly in stand of beech trees opposite Tower Lodge, and scattered throughout the entire long wood. Impossible to estimate how many, but at one stage 3 or 4 in any binocular view.

The majority are in the trees rather than on the ground, where hordes of Pheasants and Red legged are scoffing all the beech mast.

Does seem to be a good Beech mast year. Never had so many Pheasants 10+ and Grey Squirrels feeding on the mast at the Crook O' Lune as this Autumn.

Plenty of Redwings over each morning heading N and NE. 40 Fieldfare NE a couple of days ago also. Siskins around and 2 Lesser Redpolls over recently.
