Freehold counts of swifts in mostly mixed blustery showery weather on 6th then fine evenings on 7th and 8th August....

16 birds sunset (very late brief display at 8.45pm), 14 birds sunset, 14 birds 9am, 15 birds sunset, clouding over in advance of overnight rain.

Fri 9th after earlier massive thunder & lightning and hail at 6pm

...just 7 birds briefly, mostly just 4, with a late appearance at 8.40pm. At least 2 nest sites still being visited.

Unsurprisingly Saturday evening produced no swifts but Sunday a brief late appearance of 7 followed by 14 at 8am on Monday 12th

...and 7 birds at 8.45pm on Mon 12th, 3 screaming at low level and 4 drifting quietly above...
