Good to hear about the green woodpecker - not found one in area yet this year and was despairing.
(Had 4 in RSPB Arne yesterday).

Always good to hear or see them. It's an ideal habitat up there with all those ant hills.
It was briefly yaffling on the eastern side of Holmepark Fell.
Last year there were a four on the western descent of Holmepark Fell[ plus two on the eastern edge] but they weren't heard or seen yesterday on the western edge.
If it's any consolation there's still a few about, just north of your area in South Cumbria. I found them in 8 different locations last year.

There's usually one or two about on Burton Fell.

The paucity of Yellowhammer in this known area is a bit worrying
