Morecambe & Allen 09.35-1045:
1 spoonbill,
hundreds of black-tailed godwits among which one colour-ringed bird had right leg red over red flag, left leg yellow over white, while second was incomplete - right leg white over white with an X in black on it, left leg upper ring obscured lower ring red (any use?)
1 chiffchaff, 1 buzzard, 1 kestrel, 1 skylark on distant post
47 avocets

main reserve1055 - 14.30
8 chiffchaffs - 7 singing, 1 seen not singing
5 willow warblers
3 blackcaps (area inside bottom gate was most productive for warblers, near the bench)
1 fem scaup from Causeway hide
4 goldeneye - 1 m 3 fem
6+ swallows
2 marsh harriers displaying
2 otters catching eels. 1 was attacked by 2 great black-backed gulls presumably to get it to release the eel

The first Icewit with the red flag was present at the Snab, Lune Valley on 5-6 April. Richard will pick up these sightings thanks.
