Aldcliffe highlights
April 07, 2019 01:04PM
Got out a bit too late today (all the ring ouzels, hoopoes etc would have been kicked well into the long grass by the hordes by the time I got there).
Even so, there were one or two birds of note.
1 white wagtail on Wildfowlers' Pools - plus several pieds in the area.
2 swallows
Many chiffchaff & at least 5 blackcaps
5 wheatear
Steady pulses of meadow pipits north (first detected over my house before I set off)
Just c260 black-tailed godwits and no sign of any LRPs
5 goldeneye still present plus 3 shoveler and good numbers of teal and gadwall.
At least 7 little grebes
