20 Pale-belied Brent Geese off the children's play area beyond Knowlys Road at 9.30 am. Although distant and rubbish visibility two birds appeared to be colour-ringed: one with a red ring on its right leg, the other with a yellow ring on its left leg.

I don't know what happened Pete but the WhatsApp circular didn't appear until 1430 - must be a blip on the system

There were actually a record 43 Pale-bellied Brent - all together on Red Nab approaching high tide before heading towards Middleton. What's happening is that a proportion are feeding amongst the similar rocks at Half Moon Bay

Three ringed birds - the two Canadian Arctic birds and one with yellow left leg and metal right leg which I'm a bit puzzled about. Hopefully we can read it tomorrow

31 at least today including all three ringed birds but the only chance with the yellow ringed bird saw the ring butt on to the observer so character not visible! If anyone manages to read this and sort out what is happening on the other leg (white without code over metal) would be really grateful

Hi Pete, I posted the message on WhatsApp at 9.30 am, but will text you directly with relevant info in the future to avoid the messaging delay that happened with this message yesterday morning.

That's really odd Pete - itszthe first time it hasn't posted immediately - a text message on the other hand took six hours the other day!

Was your phone switched off for incoming calls or some other constriction?

At least 31 today and about five hours on and off trying to read the yellow ringed bird which is really awkward!
