3 sand martins over Causeway yesterday evening

Highlights

10.30-11.45 Morecambe & Allen hides - 6 avocets, 3 greenshank, 1 knot, 3 dunlin, 2 mergansers, 1 marsh harrier over the railway line, 165 greylag geese on Quaker's Stang with 11 Canada geese and 41 jackdaws on the next field.

12.00 - 14.00 On the main reserve. 1 wren building a nest in the centre boss of the roof of the Hideout pergola, 1 Cetti's warbler near Griesdale, 50 fieldfare in the field with sheep viewable from Griesdale hide, 1 nuthatch, 1 treecreeper, 2 marsh harriers (m,f) from Griesdale, 1 great black-backed gull (setting up nest across from Lilian's?)

14.15 - 15.30 Fell End 9+ snipe, 20+ lapwing, 12+ gadwall, 8 mallard, 24 teal, 1 buzzard, great tit, blue tit, backbird, crow, 4 pheasant. (First visit since last summer - found now 2 hides and new paths to explore - very promising place).
