Red Kite over Morecambe Bay

Red Kite over Morecambe Bay
October 05, 2018 01:46PM
I was amazed to see a Red Kite fly across Morecambe Bay at about 1:10 this afternoon. I spotted it flying north from the Morecambe/Heysham direction and it disappeared towards Silverdale. Fairly low but deliberate. forked tail and pale underwing patches easy to see.

Anyone any idea why a kite would do this?
