Mistle thrush

An impressive group of 13 birds today feeding on our outfield at Torrisholme CC. The norm is four and judging by the behaviour it would appear more than half are fledged young.

Starlings are a bit thin on the ground. The ground is probably a bit hard for worms and emerging craneflies tend to need rain. Several starling have been victims of the local sparrowhawk going by the feathers left on the ground.
