Sandwich terns still in good numbers

One feature of this very odd spring has been the numbers of Sandwich Tern still around with at least 180 seen during the early morning seawatch at Heysham and probably several others already fishing in the low tide channels off Morecambe. Thought they would be nesting by now. Highlight of the sea-watch was a northbound Tree Pipit which landed briefly on the mound before continuing - a new grounded record for SD36! No skuas today, at least at sea level, but a few Arctic Tern still passing through
