Single bird flying over Bare at 10.15 a.m today.

Had a quite extraordinary day today when three of us covering coastal Heysham had absolutely nothing flying overhead or past - not a single swallow/sand Martin/house Martin oe anything grounded like wheatear until late morning when two wheatear and a black redstart appeared at red nab and three singing lesser whitethroat similarly materialised (one hnr, two middleton). The low numbers of hirundines and wheatear is really odd......yet we have ringed a spring record 27 blackcap so far and we are not even half way through the passage period

2 South not North over the Crook lunchtime today but very little vismig evident overwise.

Single swallow and my first sighting for 2018 in the village today.
