PBB Geese and Iceland awol over the high tide in the am but in the usual places as described above as the tide dropped in the afternoon

Chough in second field N of 1/2 moon bay cafe but with frozen conditions coming up might not be so easy to find and be hiding in the undercliff as on previous occasions

Green Sandpiper again on roadside shallow wetland just east of the recycling centre/construction site roundabout on Heysham bypass. No entry at all on to construction site road, even remaining at the roundabout end miles away from any construction - hoofed out straight away, so be careful viewing this area

All three main scarcities present but brents did not appear on skeer until well after tide (c1320). Chough dead easy in first or second fields - located wearing reading glasses!!

3W Iceland Gull still present this morning
Chough still in first field north of cafe this am and again in second field 1500
Female stonechat, jack snipe oe saltmarsh edge

Please note that the waterfall is not visible from the parking area in the SW corner of the harbour and access to view from the north harbour wall is usually not possible as this is currently a construction site with regular heavy plant back and forth

Therefore it has to be the long walk round parking just before Ocean Edge and the usual access via Red Nab and the outfalls and the west quay where, of course, you might see other birds or you might get xxx wet through, so watch the rain alarm! (eg later today!)

Nothing behind iom ferry but it really struggled and clattered the North wall as it entered the harbour

Two jack snipe oe saltmarsh edge plus usual fem stonechat
No seawatching undertaken

Chough also one field from the cafe car park this am. As you say oblivious to dogs, walkers and the wind.

Chough showing well now NB it can get right at the top of the second field and therefore not be easily visible from the usual VPs lower down

Iceland gull 3w south west corner of harbour - it sometimes roosts on top of floodlights on adjacent building and as such easily missed (no photos of it is on these pleas as per EDF request that cameras are not directed towards their property. Thanks. A reminder that anyone in this area is on camera at all times).

The two pale bellied Brent reappeared off the horse paddocks at 1400 hrs but where they have been over the high tide period this last three days has been a mystery

See Heyshamobservatory.blogspot.com for a decent variety of stuff today plus pics, including the/a Shag sighting for the first time for a bit and the Velvet Scoter in flight

Have to assume the two wintering Pale-bellied Brent Geese have gone though - last reported 19th Feb

Iceland Gull waterfall, Chough second field, OE Stonechat and 1/2 Moon Bay Stonechat still alive!

Velvet offshore with Eider late afternoon but would have missed it but for wingflap due to low vantage point and heat haze!!
