River Lune Lancaster
November 12, 2017 12:47PM
3 ringed black headed gulls were on the Lune this morning between Green Ayre and Salt Ayre. I used to keep an eye on this stretch of river when I lived in the city centre but I don't recall ever seeing a ringed BHG. I may return with a bag of bread but it won't be for a couple of weekends. The only other notable birds around were a couple of tree sparrows in the hedge that separates the maize fields at Aldcliffe.

Thanks go to Pete Crooks for today's header photo of Aldcliffe. If you have a suitable picture of a local birding spot, why not send it to the webmaster, at andymccafferty@gmail.com? I need to resize (and if necessary crop) pictures to make them 600x130 pixels, so ideally send it at that size (definitely not smaller).
