Wonder where these eider are at low tide - as far as we can see - low tide scans plus a fisherman/birder out at all low tide hours there are no large numbers as per the spring on the heyshsm skeers

Most were on the banks of the Kent channel, opposite and upstream of breakwater, before the tide lifted them off. 50 - 60 around the skjaer south of JBP, already afloat when I got there, but had probably been out on it until the tide came in. Both sites regular for smaller numbers at low tide.

Thanks John - so they are staying in the bay with you - this must be unprecedented in these numbers at this time of year?

Thanks go to Pete Crooks for today's header photo of Aldcliffe. If you have a suitable picture of a local birding spot, why not send it to the webmaster, at andymccafferty@gmail.com? I need to resize (and if necessary crop) pictures to make them 600x130 pixels, so ideally send it at that size (definitely not smaller).
