c30 Swifts Milnthorpe. I was sat at the traffic lights and they were wheeling around below roof top height, some at traffic light height, approximately 11:00.

Still around the village at 1700.

9 by the Station Hotel in Caton at 5pm Thurs, then an easy count of 34 over Derwent Road Freehold at 8pm as a large peregrine drifted N and E attracting the swifts and a few hirundines.

The Bare swifts were easier to see this morning as they were up higher hunting in the warmer air, and there were at least 13.

Also 2 at Heysham by the coast path, later.

Thanks go to Pete Crooks for today's header photo of Aldcliffe. If you have a suitable picture of a local birding spot, why not send it to the webmaster, at I need to resize (and if necessary crop) pictures to make them 600x130 pixels, so ideally send it at that size (definitely not smaller).
