Mid-late morning Conder Green: 2 spotted redshank and grey wagtail on the banks of the stream. Sparrowhawk and kestrel hunting. Over Luneside marshes flock of goldfinch, several skylark flyover.

Late morning Cockerham lighthouse:
12+ pintail, 1 merganser, 1 eider and 15+ wigeon

Pilling Lane Ends early pm until 2.15:
2 peregrines hunting, one definitely a juv., a lot of pink-fotted goose activity visible beyond Pilling (large flocks kept flying up and settling)plus 20 or so loose pink-footed with one greylag near the bank, one wheatear on the saltings. I didn't count systematically, but skylarks were coming over, some landing, some flying on, steadily all the time we were there, at a rate we guess of over 100 per hour. It was difficult to assess this properly, 1. because we were walking slowly along the bank and back, 2. because some were landing quickly others flying on. We were just aware of the calls all the time we were there and, whenever you looked up there were always 5 or 6 in view. Also flock of 50 woodpigeons apparently passing through - migrant?

Finally to Cockersands too late for most things on the tide but a snipe flew in and landed in the saltings.
